Ottawa Pin-up Photography – Pin-up Girl? Why Not?

Pin-up portraits is a movie star’s day out, stopping traffic, accelerating pulses, being a tease, going back to an era of seamed stockings and cherry lips and one piece bathing suits. Showing off those legs, curves and a voluptuous bosom with enticing cleavage, flashy hair style or mysterious eyes à la Betty Grable, Rita Hayworth, Ann Margaret, Carmen Electra or attitude à la James Dean. It’s about you being confident with who you are and acting out the pose that entices.

This playful session is an experience to remember and your chance to act it out. Pin-up is an excellent way to show your sexy side without revealing too much.

Laurie was in need of some pampering. With a 2 year old son, a full time job and the owner of a horse ranch, she completely forgot about herself and thought this session would be uplifting.

She came in with bags full of clothing and props and was well prepared to go back to the pin-up era. It was fun to capture the different costumes and looks. After completing the pin-up session, I had a bit of spare time so I convinced Laurie to do a bit a nudes to show off her gorgeous legs.

Ottawa Boudoir Photographer – It’s All About You – Contest Winner

Back in February, I hosted a “It’s All about You”‘ contest on my Facebook Page and one  complimentary session was given to the person with the best photo.

I met Melanie through an acquaintance. That introduction later led to a family session and a fairy portrait session. She submitted a photo of her sitting in a garden of flowers and since I’m a flower lover my first reaction was WOW.

When I announced that she was the “photographer’s choice!!!” she was very happy because she was in need of some pampering because she is a full time mom of 3 beautiful children and a wife to a handsome husband.

Melanie’s choice of clothing was bare minimum!!! However, the look in her eyes, her long legs and body artwork defines her personality and her simplicity.

Boudoir is not just about the end product printed on photographic paper. It’s also about the experience on how it makes you feel beautiful, sexy and how empowering it can be. It’s about personality, outlook and positive attitude……

Everyone has a special smile, hand movement or look that makes them sexy.

I recently worked with Amélie on a bridal boudoir project after posting a model
search in my Facebook page.

When I opened the door I was captured by her smile, her eyes and thought she was a beautiful curvy women. I was captured by her grace, her fashionable look and considered myself very lucky to have such a great model to work with.

Amélie explained that this session came at a very good time in her life because her wedding anniversary is coming up and she also needed it to boost her confidence.

In my opinion, I think she belongs on the cover of a magazine!!!

How often are you in front of the camera? It can be intimidating. An engagement session is a good chance to practice.

Most engagement sessions last between one to one hour and a half.

For outdoor sessions, you can pick a meaningful location such as your first date or your engagement site. There are also numerous parks in the area such as the Rockeries in Rockliffe Park, the Museum of Civilization, Mooney’s Bay or the Experimental Farm, which may fit your style. You may also opt for a studio session.

Ottawa Boudoir Photographer – It’s all about You!!

Back in February, I had a contest called “It’s All About You” on my facebook page and gave away 2 glamour sessions. The purpose of this contest was to give the opportunity to women to spend some time being pampered, boost their ego and make them feel beautiful.

Samantha was the winner with the most votes. Having been Sam’s wedding and family photographer for several years, I convinced her to do a boudoir session instead of a glamour shoot. I thought the experience would be uplifting, empowering and memorable since she’s had 4 children.

I always felt that Sam was a beautiful women without make-up, had these amazing legs and having the opportunity to capture her intimate side would be an honor. I noticed Sam’s posture and era was different when she left my studio as opposed to when she arrived so I knew I had accomplishe’ my goal and had given her the Chantal Benoit experience!!!
