Ottawa Photographer – Tips on how to frame and hang your artwork

When selecting your frames, you want to choose so the frame will complement your photo rather than your wall or furniture.

If you were to paint your wall a different color or change your furniture, the frame would no longer complement the decor. By selecting a frame for the photo will save you from changing it and will also make your photo stand out.

Custom framing can really enhance your artwork. A knowledgeable person can guide you on preservation products like acid free mats and ultraviolet glass.

If you prefer a clean modern look, consider having your artwork printed on a 2 inch Canvass Gallery Wrap.

Avoid areas where the artwork is exposed to direct sunlight. Avoid bathrooms with tubs or showers because the heat and humidity can damage your image.

Artwork should be hung at the eye level for an average height person and six to 9 inch above sofa.

Using a laser level will help you make sure your photos are hung at the same height.

Use two hooks for larger frames to keep them stable. Use correct screws and wall plugs for your type of wall. You wouldn’t want your fabulous artwork falling off the wall.

I hope these tips were useful. If you have any questions, please feel free to write me at cbp@travel-net.com.
